Ice fishing (pilkillä) ring.
My aunt in Finland, a retired nurse from Helsinki, now lives
in middle Finland, in a small town called Linna (which means 'castle'
in English), with property adjoining a lake named Pyhäjärvi ('Holy
Lake').
In her retirement she has discovered that she has an affinity
for fishing, particularly ice fishing. She has participated in
many competitions across the country and brought home numerous
trophies, sometimes even winning against the men.
In the Ice fishing (pilkillä) ring,
a half-polished, semi-rough section of Aquamarine (which is also
my birthstone) represents the activity of ice fishing itself.
