Toronto designer Niki Kavakonis' Tip of the Iceberg ring design
featured in The Nature of Diamonds exhibition at the Royal Ontario
Museum, October 25 2008 - March 22 2009.

Showcasing an array of signicant gemstones and jewellery from vaults around the world, The Nature of Diamonds exhibition features Toronto designer Niki Kavakonis' Tip of the Iceberg ring design, one of a handful of designs by Canadian designers. Inspired by an iconic feature of Canada's vast landscape, and giving a nod to the the Group of Seven's mountain masterpieces, the ring is also inspired by Frank Lloyd Wright's architectural icon Fallingwater.

The Tip of the Iceberg ring features a 2.78ct uncut Canadian octahedral diamond from the Ekati mines in the North West Territories, Canada.

The Nature of Diamonds exhibition is organised by the American Museum of Natural History (AMNH), New York in collaboration with the Royal Ontario Museum, October 25 2008 - March 22 2009 ; the Houston Museum of Natural Science, May 8 - September 7 2009; and The Field Museum, Chicago, October 23 2009 - March 29 2010.
